Tourism hub city!

With the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for Building a Leading Tourism Nation". The Plan clearly states the promotion of coordinated development of urban and rural tourism. In the section on "layout of tourism cities and featured tourism destinations", Shenyang has been included as a "tourism hub city".

What is a tourism hub city?

A tourism hub city evolves from a transportation hub and serves as an intermediary and bridge between tourist origins and destinations. Tourists depart from various source regions, enter through the tourism hub (the first stop city), with some choosing to stay and visit there, while the majority continue onward to surrounding tourism destinations via the hub's services for aggregation, transfer and transit.

Regarding the tourism hub cities,the country has made such a plan.

The Plan clearly states that tourism hub cities should be enabled to better perform their functions of tourist distribution and radiating driving effects. It calls for optimizing service offerings in tourism hub cities, key tourism cities and featured tourism destinations.

The Plan clearly states in the section on "layout of tourism cities and featured tourism destinations" that efforts will be sustained to enhance the functions of key tourism hub cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Shenyang, Changchun, Harbin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Fuzhou, Nanchang, Jinan, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanning, Haikou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guiyang, Kunming, Lhasa, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Xining, Yinchuan and Urumqi.
