On May 13, it was learned by the reporter that the Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Education issued the Guidelines on Further Strengthening Kindergarten Outdoor Activities (hereinafter referred to as the "Guidelines"). This is a guiding document for the scientific development of kindergarten outdoor activities.
The Guidelines notes that the general requirements for taking "games" as the basic activities shall be implemented, and the playfulness, sports and safety of outdoor activities shall be emphasized, and the kindergartens shall be guided through scientific, safe, adequate and suitable outdoor activities to promote the full development of children's physical quality, movement coordination,emotional attitude, etc.
Outdoor games shall focus on developing children's body control and balance abilities such as rotation and rolling, body movement abilities such as running, jumping, climbing, crawling, and scrambling, and device control abilities such as rolling, tossing, throwing, bouncing, and kicking the ball. No one-size-fits-all approach shall be applicable for all children, and the practice of forcing all children to achieve unified development goals in the form of intensive training shall be avoided.
The kindergartens shall fully reflect children's subject consciousness, and support children to explore game materials, to set game play approaches, and to construct game scenarios; and they shall reflect local characteristics, and develop a dynamic integration of traditional sports, innovative games, rhythmic gymnastics, apparatus exercises, winter sports, etc., to ensure the effective development of children's fundamental movement skills and kinesiology such as balance, strength, endurance and coordination.
