The number of the 5G network users in Shenyang has seen the sustained and rapid growth since 5G officially entered the market in Shenyang on October 31, 2019.The reporter learned from the statistics department on September 5 that by the end of July, the number of the 5G terminal connections in Shenyang had reached 3.023 million.

Reportedly, at the beginning of 5G officially entering the market, the base station coverage of Shenyang was only about a thousand. After nearly two years' construction, the invisible and intangible 5G signals have penetrated into the citizens, and realized the continuous coverage of the core downtown and county areas of Shenyang, as well as the coverage of the demonstration areas, including airports, transportation hubs, universities, and vertical industries. Shenyang would newly build 6,000 5G base stations to continue to optimize 5G network this year.

The full signals, faster broadband connections, smoother experiences, and deep coverage of 5G network attracted more and more citizens to join the ranks of 5G users. Statistics showed that by the end of July, out of 11.476 million mobile phone users of Shenyang, there were 3.023 million 5G terminal connections, which means that 1 in  less than every 4 mobile phone users on average in Shenyang was using 5G cellular phones, including urban and rural sectors.
