Here comes the latest progress on Shenyang Metro Line 3!

On June 30,with the laying of the last pair of steel rails in place on the section between Gongyedaxue Station and Ningguan Station,the short rail connection was successfully achieved on the western section of Shenyang Metro Line 3.

What is the "short rail connection"?

The "short rail connection" refers to the complete laying of all the standard 25-meter-long steel rails to form a continuous track. Once these rails are seamlessly welded, the "long rail connection" is accomplished.

The track-laying project for the western section of Shenyang Metro Line 3 is undertaken by the Xinyun Engineering Company of China Railway No.2 Engineering Group Co., Ltd.It encompasses construction tasks of 14 stations and 14 sections to lay 51.18 kilometers of track, lay 23 groups of turnouts and install 25.6 kilometers of evacuation platform.

Since the construction started last year, the project department has actively overcome the impacts such as low temperatures during winter, scattered track-laying locations, and specialty-intersecting construction. The 10-kilometer track-laying goal was achieved by the end of 2023.After the Chinese New Year in 2024, the project department promptly marshaled the construction forces and fully carried forward the remaining construction tasks, maximizing the "progress bar" of the construction.

As of present, the main structures of all 14 stations in the western section of Line 3 (from Lida Station to Nanliguan Station) have been completed, successfully attaining "tunnel connection" and "rail connection".Decoration, electricity and air conditioning, power supply, equipment and other specialties have all began construction and the project is progressing orderly.
