Winter in Shenyang is a season of endless joy and surprises.A winter fishing event is about to begin.

The 11th Shenyang Wolonghu Winter Fishing Season will kick off at the Wolonghu Wharf on January 24.

An upgraded "Lake Worship and Net Awakening Ceremony" to be presented

At the opening ceremony of this year's winter fishing season, the upgraded "Lake Worship and Net Awakening Ceremony", which is a traditional ritual of local fishermen praying for a bumper harvest, will be held to recreate the magnificent scene of the Khitan royal court's winter fishing, along with the thousand-year-old traditional fishing methods. In addition, modern song and dance performances will be staged, showcasing the interplay between history and the present.

An ice and snow theme park to be launched

A winter fishing ice and snow theme park, which blends aesthetics and fun, will be launched. In the park, the Qizhou-style Time-travel Gate transports visitors back a millennium, while the Nabo Celestial Palace Snow Slide reappears the grandeur of the Liao Dynasty's celestial palace. The ice flower-themed ice sculptures and the horse-themed snow installations are perfect for photography.

The park has 26 ice and snow entertainment projects catering to all age groups. The park offers not only unpowered amusement projects such as Ice Floating and Carp Ice Rink, but also powered amusement projects such as Ice and Snow Karting, enabling visitors to have fun in the snow and ice.

Brand-new "‌Red Stove Warm Street" to kick off

The "Li Hao" Kangping Cultural and Creative Product Store‌ gathers souvenirs themed around migratory birds and winter fishing. The first winter-fishing AR popsicle in the country and the traditional Chinese medicine herbal teas give visitors an experience of "warm drink in icy weather". The "Hao Duo Yu" Market‌ and the ‌Fried Food Festival‌ are filled with the warmth of daily life, while the Palm Museum‌ lets you experience the charm of Liaoshen culture in the palm of your hand.
