Good news!A new museum was opened in Shenyang.

The first professional archaeological museum in NE China—Liaoning Archaeological Museum has begun its trial operation.

The Liaoning Archaeological Museum was built and is hosted by the Liaoning Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology (hereinafter referred to as "the institute"), and the venue used is the former office building of the institute.

In accordance with the renovation plan, each floor of the five-story office building will be converted into a thematic exhibition hall.Leveraging more than 20,000 pieces of cultural relics from the institute's collection, as well as a substantial number of archaeological specimens, the museum will present the long history and profound culture of Liaoning and even the broader Northeast region through thematic and scenario-based exhibits.

The first three floors of the office building have been converted into exhibition halls of the museum.Each floor features a themed exhibition, namely "The Great Wall Culture of Liaoning", "The Everlasting Hongshan People" and "The Latest Archaeological Achievements of Hongshan Culture". Each hall can accommodate up to 30 visitors at a time.

The Liaoning Archaeology Museum has utilized technologies such as holographic projection and digital experience and "relocated" the temporary exhibition hall of the archaeological site into the museum, enabling the cultural relics to be showcased in their unearthed shapes.Most of the cultural relics are being presented to the public for the first time.

The Liaoning Archaeological Museum is currently opening only three exhibition halls.Moreover,the museum is only opened to academic research groups and adopts a reservation system.
