Shenyang Museum's heavyweight exhibition showcasing the Bronze Age is about to be held!

"Special Exhibition of the Bronze Wares of Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties in Zhengzhou Area" will be held on September 24 at the Shenyang Museum,and it will last for four months.

Zhengzhou is located in the core area of the birthplace of Chinese civilization, where the large number of bronze wares unearthed are a microcosm of the Bronze Age of Chinese civilization, telling the story of the germination, prosperity and decline of bronze culture. To fully showcase the Bronze Age, this exhibition places great emphasis on the selection of wares and tries best to highlight their cultural representation and convey a clear historical context.

The exhibition showcases 84 sets of bronze wares of Xia, Shang, and Zhou Dynasties unearthed in Zhengzhou Area (139 pieces in total), including many precious first-class cultural relics. It is the first heavyweight exhibition introduced by the Shenyang Museum since its opening.

This is the first time that the bronze wares of Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties in the Central Plains have been systematically presented in Northeast China. The exhibition will not only display a complete set of the Zhou Dynasty's highest standard bronze ritual vessels "nine ding and eight gui", but also gather and display the heavy bronze wares hoarded in the capital city of Shang Dynasty in Zhengzhou.
