Shenyang Imperial Palace, built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) is one of the two well-preserved palace complexes in China, with the other being the Forbidden City in Beijing. It was put on the World Heritage List by UNESCO in July 2004.

The former site of Yang Yuting's Mansion is located at Kuixinglou Road, which is made up of siheyuan (traditional Chinese courtyard) and foreign buildings in European neoclassical style.
The former site of Chang Yinhuai's Mansion is located at Wanshou Lane, with a construction area of 3,295 square meters. It features a brick-concrete structure and sloping roof covered with green iron plates.

The former site of Zhicheng Bank is situated at Zhonghua Road. It was reorganized as a private joint-stock bank from five private banks and was built in 1932.
The former site of HSBC Bank is located at Shiyiwei Road, which was built in 1931 and designed by the British. It was one of the few large reinforced concrete buildings in Shenyang at that time.
The former site of Citibank is located at Shiyiwei Road and was built in 1928, and was designed by Americans.
The former site of the official modern bank of three provinces in Northeast China in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) is located in Chaoyang Street, which was the first modern bank in Northeast China and was the core financial institution in the area, controlled by Zhang Zuolin, a former army marshal. It was built in 1929.
The Frontier Bank (Shenyang Financial Museum), as the largest financial museum in China with the widest range of exhibits, takes advantage of the former site of Frontier Bank held by Zhang Zuolin and his son Zhang Xueliang. The building was designed by German designers and completed in 1930, listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit in 1996.

Shenyang Catholic Church is the earliest Catholic Church in Shenyang and was built by a French priest. The church was burnt down in the Yihetuan Movement (an anti-imperialist armed struggle in 1900, known as the Boxers Movement) and was rebuilt in 1912 with a typical Gothic style.
Ci'en Temple was built in 1628 and was made up of three building groups. It is the largest existing Buddhist temple in Shenyang.
Great Buddha Temple was built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), covering an area of 543 square meters.
Prajna Temple was built in 1684 and made up of east and west courtyards, covering an area of 2,289 square meters.
Taiqing Palace was built in 1663 and has distinctive national style and Taoist style in its architecture.
Temple of Eternal Peace is one of the most ancient temples in Shenyang. It was built before the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), covering an area of 5,200 sq m.
Shisheng Temple was built in 1636 and is a large Lama temple in Shenyang. It is also called the "Royal Temple".
South Mosque was built in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. It is the largest and most prestigious mosque in Northeast China, covering an area of 6,116 sq m.
East Mosque was built in 1803, covering an area of 1,900 sq m. And the building embodies a combination of Chinese and western architectural styles.

Building group of Tiexi workers' village was a famous living area for workers, which was built in 1952. It had 143 buildings, covering an area of 730,000 square meters.
Museum of Life in Workers' Village was built based on typical workers' dormitory buildings of the 1950s in Tiexi District, Shenyang. It highlights the living environment and everyday lives of workers from that time.
Laolongkou Wine Cellar has 54 wine cellars and one ancient well. Laolongkou was built in 1662, and is the oldest, largest and most well-preserved wine cellar in Northeast China. Its traditional wine brewing technology has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Shenyang Labor Model Memorial Hall is a large theme museum in China for commemorating labor models, covering an area of 3,000 sq m, with seven exhibition sections showing the spirit of Shenyang's labor models in different periods.

Recommended sites: the old site of Beidaying barracks, the old site of Wang Tiehan's office
The old site of Beidaying barracks is located at Liulin Street and was built in 1907, covering an area of 4 square kilometers. The warlord Zhang Zuolin's army had been stationed here in the 1920s.
The old site of Wang Tiehan's office is located at Beisijing Street where Wang Tiehan, a general in the War of Resistance Against Japanese, lived from July 1946 to October 1948.
