On June 30,the EVE Shenyang Base was put into operation, making a new milestone in the development of the new energy industry in Northeast China.
In 2022, EVE Energy Co., Ltd. invested 10 billion yuan to build a research and manufacturing base for energy storage and power batteries in Shenyang. In response to the "pain points" of the poor performance and low efficiency of power batteries in cold regions, the EVE Shenyang Base focuses on the production of energy storage and power batteries that are characterized by low-temperature resistance, high energy density, and high reliability.
At the launching ceremony, Wang Peng, the general manager of the Fourth Business Department of EVE Energy Co., Ltd., introduced the innovation and application of the pilot project's flagship product — large cylindrical battery. The large cylindrical battery, with its four core values of unique standardization, in-situ upgrade, zero swelling and intrinsic safety, has become the power source for BMW's Neue Klasse models. "The EVE is the first new energy enterprise in China to mass-produce and deliver large cylindrical batteries. Within 15 months after mass production, 32,000 vehicles will be delivered, with the longest mileage reaching 210,000 kilometers," said Wang Peng.
The EVE research center for lithium battery application in cold regions was inaugurated on the same day. Leveraging the technological strengths of EVE Energy Co., Ltd., the center will collaborate with related material and application innovation platforms across Northeast China to research and develop novel battery materials and technologies tailored for extreme environments in cold regions to address the challenge of battery performance degradation under low-temperature conditions, thereby achieving significant improvements in critical performance metrics of batteries, such as low-temperature endurance and charge-discharge efficiency. In addition, the center is committed to becoming a national-level energy innovation platform, providing strong support for the green energy transformation of the old industrial base in Northeast China.
