The agricultural economy of Shenyang maintained rapid growth in the first half of this year

The reporter learned from the data released by Shenyang Statistics Bureau on August 2 that the total value of output from agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries of Shenyang reached 24.10 billion yuan in the first half of this year with the comparable growth of 6.9%, increasing by 4.4 percentage points compared with the same period of 2020, 2.4 percentage points compared with the first quarter, and 4.7 percentage points compared with the same period of 2019. The agricultural economy maintained the momentum of sound growth, and provided the powerful support for the stability of the overall economic and social development of Shenyang.

Comparing with the data of last year, the sown area of maize of the spring sowing of this year added 12666.7 hectares, the sown area of rice of the spring sowing of this year dropped by 1466.67 hectares, the sown area of soybean of the spring sowing of this year added 1466.67 hectares. At present, the crops are flourished, the rainfall is plentiful, and it is expected to realize grain output rising high in Shenyang this year.

In the first half of this year, the sown area of vegetable of Shenyang was 27733.3 hectares, up 3.5% year on year, with the output reaching 1.063 million tons, up 3.6% year on year, of which, the sown area of protected vegetable was 16600 hectares, up 2.5%, with the output 967000 tons, up 3.3%. The supplies of the vegetables produced locally were increased gradually. The main varieties were mainly green eggplant, hot pepper and kidney bean. The overall vegetable prices showed the trend of seasonal fluctuations with the average price up 4.1% compared with the same period of 2020. Both the output and the price of the vegetable cultivation were raised.

By the end of June, there were 2.3 million pigs on hand in Shenyang, up 35.1% compared with the same period of 2020, passing 2.2 million for three consecutive quarters. In the first half of this year, the cumulative pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry for slaughter were 2.009 million, 328,000, 398,000 and 51.82 million, up 31.7%,-6.4%, 26.2%, and 19.1% compared with the same period of 2020 respectively. The output of meat, eggs, and milk was 360,000 tons, 94,000 tons and 221,000 tons, up 17.6%, -16.0%, and -22.6% compared with the same period of 2020 respectively.
