Shenyang attracts PHD holders from top global universities

From August 10 to August 12,a special activity entitled "Oxford and Cambridge Students Tour Shenyang" was held in Shenyang.The activity brought together 24 PHD holders from top global universities including Oxford and Cambridge.

The PHD holders visited four national-level laboratories and two universities in Shenyang, all linked to the city's key "3+4+3" industrial clusters. In addition, they conducted in-depth discussions and job matchmaking sessions with 16 chain-leading enterprises. A total of nine PHD holders reached preliminary employment agreements with the chain-leading enterprises.

During the activity, students from Oxford and Cambridge also visited locations including the Xiaoheyan Morning Market, the Zhongjie Commercial Street and the Liaoning Provincial Museum, immersing themselves in the vibrant urban life of Shenyang.

This activity has received high recognition from young talents. Dr. Wang Hui from the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford said, "Shenyang has listened attentively to the needs of overseas students, specially organized this activity, tailored the visit itinerary to our professional backgrounds and connected us with target enterprises, enabling us to truly feel the genuine enthusiasm of the city. Shenyang is the first stop for our tour to Northeast China, and we look forward to deepening and solidifying this mutual engagement."

Taking this activity as an opportunity, Shenyang has officially established a regular cooperation mechanism with the Oxford Chinese Students & Scholars Association and the CSSA Cambridge. Through the "Invitation Letter from Shenyang", the city will directly target talent demands from key industrial clusters toward over 2,800 Chinese students currently enrolled in Oxford and Cambridge.
