Our Moment
On June 12, 2014, Shenyang City and Incheon Metropolitan City of South Korea held the signing ceremony on the establishment of sister city relationship at Incheon City Government.
Our Sister City
Incheon is a harbor city facing the Yellow Sea.
It is the third largest city and the second largest port city in South Korea.
There are many islands in Incheon.
The unique natural scenery of these islands often becomes the stage in movies or novels.
The actual stage Silmido of the famous South Korean movie "Silmido", the filming location "Muuido" of the movie "Stairway to Heaven", and the main stage "Sido" of "Full House" have all become famous tourist attractions.
There is also Ganghwado, which is known as the "Museum without Walls".
The entire Ganghwado maintains a unique natural environment and many historical sites.
In 2000, Ganghwado Beach was designated as the world's first natural monument.
Our friendship
In June 2012, the two cities signed the "Letter of Intent to Establish Sister City Relations".
In March 2013, the Shenyang City delegation participated in the "China Week" event organized by Incheon City.
In November 2013, a medical tourism delegation from Incheon City came to Shenyang to conduct exchanges in the medical and health field.
In July 2014, the Incheon City delegation participated in the "Korea Week" event in Shenyang.
In April 2016, the Shenyang City delegation went to Incheon City to discuss and promote practical exchange and cooperation in the field of intelligence city construction.
In September 2018, the Incheon City delegation participated in "The 18th WWCAM Mayors Conference" held in Shenyang.
In October 2018, the two sides signed the "Detailed Rules of the Agreement on the Exchange of Civil Servant".
In February 2019, Incheon City sent civil servants to Shenyang City for work exchanges.
In June 2019, Shenyang City sent civil servants to Incheon City for work exchanges.
In September 2019, the two sides signed the "Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation between the Management Committee of the Shenyang Area of the China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Incheon Free Economic Zone in South Korea".
On February 25, 2020, the masks donated by Incheon City to Shenyang City arrived in Shenyang.
On March 18, 2020, epidemic prevention materials from Shenyang City arrived in Incheon.
In April 2021, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Shenyang Municipality and Incheon City launched the "Light and Shadow Pass Friendship • Five Continents Stay Connected" international sister cities mutual photo exhibition and promotional video broadcasting activity.
Next year will be the 30th anniversary
of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between China and South Korea.
