On December 8, the 5th "Incheon China Forum" was held in Incheon, Korea, a sister city of Shenyang, and Lyu Zhicheng, Deputy Secretary of CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Shenyang, delivered a video speech at the forum. Xing Haiming, Chinese ambassador to South Korea, Park Nam-choon, Mayor of Incheon, Shin Eun-ho, Speaker of Incheon, and relevant officials from the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korean Ministry of Industry, Trade and Support attended the forum.
Acting Mayor Lyu Zhicheng said in his speech that Shenyang and South Korea are close to each other in terms of geography, people and culture, and have a long history of communication and exchange. Since the establishment of friendly relations, economic and trade exchanges between the two sides have become more frequent, innovation cooperation has deepened, and humanistic exchanges have become closer, writing a beautiful chapter of hand in hand and making positive contributions to the development of China-ROK relations. Next year is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea. Facing the future, Shenyang is willing to continue to uphold the development concept of good-neighborliness and win-win cooperation with Incheon, deepen friendship, promote exchanges, carry out pragmatic cooperation in a bigger scope, wider fields and deeper levels, comprehensively build a new type of sister city relationship that is more robust, sustainable and dynamic, share urban opportunities and create a better future together.
Incheon China Forum is the largest exchange event between Incheon and China. It has been successfully held four times since 2016, and has become an important platform to promote exchanges and cooperation between Incheon and Chinese cities in various fields and enhance the sister city relations between the two countries. With the theme of "Spanning 30 Years, Moving to the Future -- Win-win, Innovative and Compassionate China-ROK Relations", the 5th Incheon China Forum held a number of activities, including a special dialogue on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the ROK, a China-ROK policy exchange forum, a China-ROK innovation and entrepreneurship Seminar, a China-ROK trade fair, and a China-ROK friendship online photography exhibition.
Incheon is the third largest city and the second largest port city in South Korea, and Shenyang and Incheon concluded a sister city relationship in 2014.
