On August 28, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the "Notice on the List of Regional Nodes for National Computing Power Interconnection", designating 17 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Beijing as national computing power interconnection regional nodes. Liaoning Province has been successfully included, and the construction of the Shenyang node has been officially approved.
The national computing power interconnection system consists of national core nodes, provincial regional nodes and industry-specific nodes. In simple terms, the country aims to integrate data centers, supercomputing centers and artificial intelligence data centers scattered across different regions, enabling unified identification, standardized interfaces and centralized resource allocation, so that computing power can be flexibly distributed across regions just like electricity.
For citizens, stronger computing power means smarter urban services. Traffic signals can optimize timing in real time, emergency dispatch becomes more precise and efficient, and "All-in-One-Go" government services respond faster.
For enterprises, especially manufacturing enterprises, once the computing power node is operational, "compute-intensive" tasks such as AI model training, industrial simulation and validation, and big data analysis can be accessed on demand — just like water or electricity — without the need to build expensive data centers. Shenyang's leading industries such as equipment manufacturing, automotive and aerospace will gain more convenient and cost-effective computing support.
For urban development, after the Shenyang node is approved, the city's computing resources will be integrated, centrally managed and enabled to flow across regions.
