The top-tier national professional ice hockey event is being held in Shenyang,where elite players are gathering once again.

The 2025-2026 Men's Chinese Ice Hockey League (Shenyang) was inaugurated at the Heping District National Fitness Center (Heping District Ice Sports Center) in Shenyang on the evening of October 12.Shenyang has been chosen to undertake a league division for the second consecutive year and has also been honored as the host city for the opening game of the new season of the Men's Chinese Ice Hockey League.

This season's league features four domestic professional hockey clubs, including Beijing Lions Ice Hockey Club, Anhui Xinhua University Ice Hockey Club, Liaoning Shenyang Aomei Ice Hockey Club and Shenzhen Kunlun Red Star Ice Hockey Club. The Shenyang division consists of 12 games over six days.

At the opening game, the Liaoning Shenyang Aomei defeated the Anhui Xinhua with a score of 7-4, securing the "first victory".

Shenyang has become a dynamic "city of ice hockey".

In recent years, ice hockey in Shenyang has experienced robust development, and last year, the city became one of the host venues for the first Men's Chinese Ice Hockey Professional League. When elite ice hockey players from across the country gathered in Shenyang once again, they felt a stronger atmosphere of the "city of ice hockey".

Alexander, the Latvian head coach of the Beijing Lions, said, "Having coached in China for many years, I have visited most of the cities that host ice hockey events in China. The conditions in Shenyang are excellent, top-notch in the country! I know that the professional ice hockey team in Shenyang was just established last year, but they have made remarkable progress."
