On December 3,the 2024 list of top 100 main urban districts in China in terms of comprehensive competitiveness was announced.All four of Liaoning's districts in the list are in Shenyang.

The four districts are Heping District (47th),Shenhe District (69th),Dadong District (90th) and Tiexi District (99th).

Among them,Heping District's ranking has risen by two positions compared to that of last year,setting a new record and retaining its position as the top district in Northeast China.

The list was compiled by Jixia Think Tank according to the indicator system of Analysis and Evaluation on the Economic Development of County in China issued by the National Academy of Economic Strategy of CASS.On the basis of the calculation of the comprehensive competitiveness index of the new urban districts with a GDP of more than 35 billion yuan each and the main urban districts with a GDP of more than 70 billion yuan each, the 2024 lists of the top 100 main urban districts in China and the top 100 new urban districts in China were formed respectively.

The list of the top 100 main urban districts in China ranks main urban districts across the country as the research object. The result comes out via the measure and calculation by the competitiveness evaluation system, which comprises 9 first-level indicators of economic power, growth momentum, structural upgrading, urban consumption capacity, fiscal self-sufficiency, residents' income, educational balance, health security and green development, and 17 second-level indicators.
