The East Square of Shenyang Railway Station is set to undergo a transformation.

The upgrade and renovation project for the East Square of Shenyang Railway Station is scheduled to commence shortly,with an anticipated completion by the end of September.

This renovation aims to enhance both underground and above-ground passenger flow and traffic distribution efficiency at the East Square of Shenyang Railway Station,establishing a comprehensive three-dimensional transportation system.

After renovation,the East Square of Shenyang Railway Station will look like this.

Underground part

A passenger distribution and sharing hall and commercial spaces will be added to cater to the diverse travel and consumption needs of passengers, and facilitate passengers to enter and leave the station.

The square on the ground

Underpass escalators and barrier-free underpass facilities will be added, and urban sights with distinctive historical and cultural features will be built to further integrate into the Taiyuan Street Business Area. This transformation will turn the East Square of Shenyang Railway Station into a multifunctional urban hub, combining transportation, commercial shopping and cultural tourism.

Some changes on entering and leaving Shenyang Railway Station will take place during the construction period.

During the construction period, the taxi pick-up area on the ground at the East Square of Shenyang Railway Station will be temporarily closed. Passengers taking taxis or private cars are advised to enter and leave the station via the West Square.

Moreover, the entrance and exit of the East Square of Shenyang Railway Station will be temporarily disconnected from the metro passageway underground due to partial closure for construction. Passengers taking metros are advised to enter and leave the station via the ground-level part.
