The city has actively promoted the construction of pocket parks since 2021. Shenyang has undertaken the renovation and greening in areas surrounding old residential communities, roadside green spaces, urban arterial roads, densely populated corners, abandoned land and idle land to create various functional pocket parks. So far, a total of over 3,070 pocket parks have been constructed, ranking first in the country in terms of construction numbers.
