On April 1, the bidding demonstration meeting of the 15th National Winter Games was held in the Liaoning Provincial Administration of Sport. 12 units from Shenyang, Dalian, Fushun, Benxi, Dandong and Liaoyang actively bid for the ice and snow events of the 15th National Winter Games.

6 units located in Shenyang, the main venue of the 15th National Winter Games, including Liaoning Provincial Administration of Sport Baiye Training Base, Shenyang Wangjiawan Ice Sports Center, Shenyang Sport University and Shenyang Dongbeiya Ski, proposed to bid for ice and snow events such as speed skating, short-track speed skating, ice hockey, freestyle skiing and snowboarding. In the 2028 National Winter Games, both ice and snow events will be held in Shenyang.

At this demonstration meeting, the design scheme of much-watched Shenyang Wangjiawan Ice Sports Center was publicly unveiled. The center bid for 3 sub-events and 28 minor events of speed skating, short-track speed skating and figure skating at the 15th National Winter Games.

The design scheme of Shenyang Wangjiawan Ice Sports Center, which will be submitted to the General Administration of Sport of China, includes a new comprehensive hall, a speed skating hall and a media center, with a total design floor area of 263,800 square meters.The project sets benchmarks with international and domestic first-class ice sports venues, which can meet the requirements of all kinds of international and domestic ice sports events. The center will be used as the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 15th National Winter Games. After completion, it will become a new landmark of Shenyang.
