Good news!A new sponge city project in Shenyang has been completed!The sponge city project in the area of Changqing Street overpass of the Second Ring Road has been completed!

The project implemented a series of landscape greening construction on the green space under the overpass.340m grass planting ditches and 1,100m² biological retention facilities were constructed.Besides collecting the runoff rainwater,the rainwater on about 3 hectares of surrounding roads is also collected into the project for purification and storage.Through the design of rainwater drainage system connecting with urban rainwater pipe network,a sponge city system combining green and gray infrastructure was formed.

As one of the second batch of national demonstration cities to systematically promote sponge city construction in the whole region,Shenyang has continuously increased its efforts for sponge city construction.Batches of "sponge body" projects have been rapidly spread throughout the city and good news comes successively.

Since this year,39 demonstration projects have been started in Shenyang,11 of which have been completed.A number of demonstration projects,including Beita Park and Yunxi Regulation and Storage Lake,are being organized and implemented in an orderly manner as planned.
