Building a common and shared "5G+" ecosystem is becoming the new trend of "new infrastructure" in Shenyang. According to Shenyang Big Data Operation Bureau on August 26, The first 5G base station in the province built on transmission towers by State Grid Corporation of China Shenyang Power Supply Company and China Mobile has landed in Shenyang. At present, the base station has completed the installation and commissioning of all equipment, and officially put into operation.

The project fully relies on the Shenyang Electric Power 220 Kv Puda Line 103 transmission tower for construction. The person in charge of State Grid Corporation of China Shenyang Power Supply Company said that the project makes full use of the advantages of high quality, strong anti-vibration, and wide distribution of the transmission towers, which perfectly solves the disadvantages of the urban area where it is not easy to build new transmission towers, to connect electricity separately and to find higher hanging points.

During the implementation of the project, the two sides communicated and coordinated many times to overcome the differences in work requirements, management processes, and construction standards between different industries. Under the premise of ensuring production safety and construction specifications, they jointly conducted thematic studies on how to mount communication facilities on transmission towers, how to mount low-voltage power supplies on towers through special clamps, and how to meet communication equipment propagation angles while ensuring the safety of tower climbing. It provides a new cooperation and sharing mode for promoting the construction of 5G network communication, expanding the application scene of 5G, and giving full play to the advantages of electric power basic resources.

The 5G base station is located near the Beijing-Shenyang high-speed railway line. After being put into use, it can not only improve the quality of network coverage around the railway, but also provide solutions to many problems such as the construction difficulty of new poles and towers should not be too close to the railway track, and the antenna hanging height is limited.

The person in charge of the Network Department, China Mobile Communications Corp Liaoning's Shenyang branch said that this innovative exploration of experience will be a model for China Mobile's next base station construction in Shenyang. At present, they have also preliminarily screened more than 60 spots within the urban area of Shenyang to build base stations in the same way, which will cover about 120,000 users in the surrounding area.
