The earthen jars thousands of years ago; the carriage bells, the copper shaman waist bells, and the vinyl phonograph a hundred years ago; the tables, chairs and benches, radios, washbasins 50 or 60 years ago...Walk into Zhao Wenbang's Folk Museum on Songhuajiang East Street of Huanggu District, as if returning to the nostalgic era of the Old Northeast.

The 64-year-old Zhao Wenbang has devoted himself to the folklore collection for more than 30 years.At present, there are tens of thousands of old objects in storage, and many of the collections have the value of "cultural relics level". 

He opened the folk museum in 2016 and carefully selected more than 3,000 items from his collections for public display.

Although Zhao Wenbang's collections do not look as glamorous as the imperialobjects in the large museum, they make people feel particularly cordial.

In Zhao Wenbang's view, every old object is a witness to history and a talking history.These old objects seem ordinary, but they deserve to be preserved, because they will let us really touch the cultural connotation of the Northeast.
