On November 26, the National Health Commission held a press conference to introduce the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases in winter.

At the conference, Mi Feng, a spokesperson with the National Health Commission, told that localities should scientifically coordinate medical resources. Efforts should be made to increase the opening of relevant clinics and treatment areas, appropriately extend service hours, and strengthen the guarantee of drug supply, Mi said, while emphasizing on timely providing and continuously updating the information of medical institutions providing pediatrics and fever clinics services and implementing the good epidemic prevention and control in schools, kindergartens, nursing homes and other key places with dense populations.

Mi reminded that large hospitals are densely populated places, where visitors and patients need to wait a long time and have a higher risk of cross infection. If the child has mild symptoms, it is recommended to first seek medical treatment at primary-level clinics or pediatric departments of comprehensive hospitals.

In order to further meet the medical needs of children in Shenyang and increase the supply of pediatric medical services,the Health Commission of Shenyang released the list of 132 medical institutions providing pediatric medical services within the jurisdiction.
