Recently, at the just held "China County/Municipal District High Quality Development Seminar 2023", the "2023 Top 100 Provincial-level Development Zones on High-quality Development in China" was announced.Shenyang Finance and Trade Development Zone, located in Shenhe District, ranks fifth, two places higher than 2022.

The indicator system for the selection of this year's Top 100 Provincial-level Development Zones on High-quality Development in China comprises five dimensions such as comprehensive strength, regional vitality and innovation and entrepreneurship, and 23 specific indicators such as regional GDP and total tax revenue.Three development zones in Liaoning Province are on the list, among which Shenyang Finance and Trade Development Zone ranks the highest.

Shenyang Finance and Trade Development Zone was established in 1991 and was designated by the state as the Core Functional Area for Optimizing Financial Ecological Reform in Shenyang Economic Zone in 2013. Currently, there are 1,874 various financial institutions gathering here.In 2022, the added value of the financial industry within the region accounted for 45% of the city, the balance of local and foreign currency deposits and loans accounted for 71.6% of the city, and the number of financial institutions per unit area and their economic contribution rate ranked the highest in NE China.
