"The Decision of China Association for Science and Technology on Naming the Second Batch of National Science Popularization Demonstration Counties (Cities and Districts)" for the Years 2021-2025 was recently issued. A total of 480 counties (cities and districts) nationwide were approved as the second batch of national science popularization demonstration counties (cities and districts) in 2021-2025, and Dadong District and Sujiatun District in Shenyang were on the list.

The relevant person in charge of Shenyang Association for Science and Technology introduced that all districts and counties (cities) in Shenyang have been implementing the innovation-driven development strategy and the action of improving the quality of science for all people in recent years, continuously strengthening political leadership, coordinating science resources, creating an innovative atmosphere, continuously improving the ability of science popularization, effectively improving the quality of science for all people, and accelerating the release of regional innovation vitality. Dadong District actively constructs a science popularization work pattern of "government leading, department coordination, and public participation", constantly improves the district, sub-district and community science popularization organization system, and plays an obvious demonstration and driving role in enhancing the grassroots science popularization service ability, optimizing the social environment of science popularization work, and improving the scientific quality of key groups. In 2020 and 2021, Dadong District was awarded as the Advanced Unit of National Science and Technology Week by the Ministry of Science and Technology for two consecutive years. The establishment of a grassroots science popularization service mechanism has been listed as a typical case in the 2021 grassroots science popularization action plan by China Association for Science and Technology. Sujiatun District adheres to put the Party and government in charge, science and technology association taking the lead, departments cooperating and society participating, actively explores the science popularization working mode of urban-rural interaction, platform co-construction, activity co-management and resource sharing, and steadily promotes the science and technology volunteer service action. In the past three years, many science popularization organizations and activities in Sujiatun District have been commended by the Ministry of Science and Technology and China Association for Science and Technology.
