The Shenyang Museum, located at No. 363 Shifu Avenue in Shenhe District, will open on December 21.

As a national historical and cultural city, Shenyang has never had a comprehensive museum that reflects the city's history. The CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee and Shenyang Municipal People's Government attache great importance to this, and write the Shenyang Museum into the the government's work report as an important work to meet the cultural needs of the people, and as an important content to do practical things for the people of the city. In September 2017, with the approval of Liaoning Provincial People's Government, the former Liaoning Provincial Museum and the comprehensive business building were transferred to Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication as the site of the Shenyang Museum. After three years of repair, renovation and display, the Shenyang Museum finally has the conditions to open.

The new Shenyang Museum is a comprehensive museum reflecting Shenyang's regional history and culture, with a construction area of about 22,000 square meters and more than 2,535 pieces (sets) of cultural relics, including Liao Dynasty gold masks, Liao Dynasty white glaze black-colored animal-print prunus vase, Liao Dynasty white glaze brown-colored flower-print prunus vases, Ming Dynasty bronze gilt Sakyamuni Buddha statue, Ming Dynasty Jiajing period blue and white flower cloud dragon, phoenix and crane covered jars, Ming Xuande period furnace, etc., which will systematic display of 110,000 years of human activities in Shenyang, 7,200 years of human cultural history and 2,300 years of city founding history.

The Shenyang Museum also has special service facilities such as a digital hall, a family education center, and a cultural and creative store.

During the epidemic prevention and control period, Shenyang Museum only provides individual online real-name appointment channels, with a daily limit of 2,000 people. Visitors can make appointments in advance through Meituan.com and Ctrip.com. After successful appointment, visitors can enter the museum with the appointment message, valid ID and health QR code. Visitors who have not made a successful reservation will not be admitted to the museum.
