According to the data released by Shenyang Statistics Bureau on June 17 that from January to May, the city's retail sales of units above the limit were 64.24 billion RMB Yuan, down 4.8 percent year-on-year, narrowing by 3.5 percentage points from the decline from January to April. Of this amount, 15.11 billion RMB Yuan was completed in May, up 8.8 percent year on year, 41.7 percentage points higher than that in April.

All key industries saw positive growth in May. In May, as the epidemic prevention and control situation became more stable, business resumed in an orderly manner, and various policies and promotional measures were put into effect to help enterprises. Five key industries, namely Internet retail, new car retail, motor fuel retail, supermarket retail and department store retail, all achieved positive growth. Internet retail sales grew 22.1 percent year-on-year, reversing the negative growth trend since February. Retail sales of new automobiles rose 10.2 percent year-on-year, 60.1 percentage points higher than the growth rate in April. Motor fuel retail sales grew 1.6 percent year-on-year, 34.8 percentage points higher than in April. Department store retail sales grew 0.9 percent year-on-year, 71.0 percentage points higher than in April. Supermarket retail sales increased by 12.7 percent year-on-year.
