BMW has been cooperating with Shenyang for 20 years!On May 18,BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. (BBA) celebrated its 20th anniversary.

In the morning,BBA held the event at the Lydia Site of Plant Tiexi.At this important time node,BBA looked back to the past,narrated the present,and looked forward to the future.

Since 2010, with a total investment of nearly CNY 100 billion, BBA has become the BMW Group's largest production layout in the world.

At present, among more than 430 parts suppliers of BBA, more than 120 are located in Liaoning and nearly 100 are rooted in Shenyang.

BBA has been the largest tax-paying enterprise in Shenyang for 17 consecutive years, with a tax contribution of CNY 48.5 billion in 2022. As of the first quarter of this year, BMW's business entities in China had provided high-quality jobs for more than 30,000 people, with nearly 26,000 people working at BBA.

BMW Group reaffirms its confidence and commitment to the Chinese market that it will create a new win-win future together with its Chinese partners.

BMW Group will accelerate its expansion in Shenyang, and intensify the localization of its electro-mobility across the areas of R&D, high-voltage batteries and electric vehicle production. This new phase of development in Shenyang will play a vital role in the Group's strategic transformation towards Electric, Digital and Circular, while also contributing to the development of the e-mobility industry in Liaoning Province.

BMW Group will put its NEUE KLASSE vehicles into production in Shenyangfrom 2026. At the same time, BMW's sixth generation (Gen6) of high-voltage batteries for the locally produced NEUE KLASSE models will start its construction. The battery assembly site is with a total investment of CNY 10 billion RMB and an area of 240,000 square meters. The Gen6 Battery Project is five times the size of BBA's existing battery assembly facilities. It will create around 2,000 new local jobs.

In addition, the Phase II Extension Project of BMW's Shenyang R&D Center was officially opened. The facilities include 19 new test benches, 17 of which are for e-mobility related tests. It will further boost BMW's e-mobility development and validation capabilities in China.
